LipoHP in Dubai
LipoHP is a surgical planning methodology created by Dr. Augusto Valente. It is not a device and not a piece of licensed equipment. It works across three layers: deep layer volume reduction, superficial sculpting to reveal natural muscular definition, and 360 degree harmonisation. Whether it suits you is decided by assessment, not by the procedure you arrived asking for.

What is LipoHP?
LipoHP is a surgical planning methodology developed by Dr. Augusto Valente over years of high volume body contouring practice. It is not a device and it is not licensed equipment.
That distinction decides how you should read every claim made about it.
Most clinics differentiate themselves by the technology they have purchased, and any clinic can purchase the same machine next month. A methodology developed by the surgeon operating on you cannot be bought — see Dr. Augusto Valente and his training.
For the comparison patients most often arrive with, read LipoHP vs regular liposuction.
The three layers
LipoHP works across three layers, and each does a different job.
- Deep layer volume reduction. The part most people picture when they think of liposuction.
- Superficial sculpting. Working closer to the surface to reveal natural muscular definition rather than simply removing fat.
- 360 degree harmonisation. Treating the body as one shape rather than as a set of separate areas — the stage behind what a snatched waist actually is, and the reason why some liposuction results look artificial.
Removing fat and shaping a body are not the same task. The second is what the methodology is built around.
How is candidacy assessed at consultation?
A LipoHP consultation is an assessment, not a sales meeting. Three things you can expect:
- You will not be asked to decide on the day.
- You will not be given a price before you have been examined.
- You will be told honestly whether the procedure will give you what you are looking for, including when the answer is that it will not.
What to bring: your medical history and current medication, one sentence describing what actually bothers you without naming a procedure, and your work and travel schedule.
Recovery planning belongs in the same conversation: returning to exercise after liposuction and returning to work after liposuction both follow timelines worth knowing before you choose a surgery date.
If you are travelling to Dubai for surgery, plan to remain in the city for approximately 10 to 14 days after most body contouring procedures, for follow up and suture removal. Flying earlier carries a thrombosis risk — see flying after liposuction.
Price is discussed openly at the same appointment, never before the examination. What determines the cost of surgery sets out what an itemised quote should contain.

What liposuction actually does and what it cannot do
Liposuction removes fat cells permanently from a treated area. Once removed, those particular cells do not return.
What it does well
- Removes localised, diet-resistant fat pockets
- Refines body contour and proportion
- Reveals underlying muscle definition when performed as a high-definition technique
- Improves the fit and drape of clothing
- Can be combined with other procedures to improve overall balance
What it does not do stated plainly
- It is not weight loss. Patients typically lose only a few kilograms. If your goal is significant weight reduction, liposuction is the wrong operation.
- It does not treat cellulite. Dimpling is caused by fibrous septa beneath the skin, not by fat volume alone.
- It does not remove stretch marks. These are dermal scars.
- It does not tighten significantly loose skin. If elasticity is poor, removing fat can make laxity more visible a tummy tuck may be the right operation instead.
- It is not a treatment for obesity, and it does not reduce visceral fat around the organs the fat most associated with metabolic risk.
“Patients often arrive asking for liposuction when what they actually need is a tummy tuck, or in some cases no surgery at all. Telling someone that honestly costs me an operation. It also means the patients I do operate on get the result they expected.”
Are you a candidate for liposuction?
You are likely a good candidate if
- You are within roughly 30% of a stable target weight
- You have specific fat pockets that have not responded to consistent diet and training
- Your skin has reasonable elasticity and retracts when pinched
- You are a non-smoker, or willing to stop at least four weeks before and after surgery
- You are in good general health with no uncontrolled conditions
- Your expectations are proportionate improvement, not transformation into a different body
- Your weight has been stable for at least six months
You are probably not a candidate if
- Your BMI is above 30. Risk rises and results disappoint. Address weight first.
- Your skin laxity is significant. You may need excisional surgery a tummy tuck or body lift not liposuction.
- You are seeking weight loss. The wrong tool entirely.
- Your weight fluctuates substantially. Results will not hold.
- You have uncontrolled diabetes, cardiac disease, or a clotting disorder.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You smoke and will not stop. Smoking materially impairs wound healing and raises complication risk.
- You expect a specific celebrity outcome. Your anatomy sets the ceiling, not a photograph.
If Dr. Valente concludes you are not a candidate, he will tell you, and explain why. A declined consultation is not a wasted one.
Dr. Valente’s approach three layers of work
LipoHP® (High Performance Liposuction) is the methodology Dr. Valente developed and named. It is not a machine or a brand of equipment it is a surgical planning approach.
- 1
Deep-layer volume reduction
Conventional liposuction largely stops here removing bulk fat to reduce volume.
- 2
Superficial sculpting
Careful, controlled work in the layer directly beneath the skin, which reveals natural muscular definition rather than simply making an area smaller.
- 3
360° harmonisation
The abdomen, flanks, lower back and waist are treated as one continuous surface. Treating the abdomen alone commonly produces a result that looks correct from the front and wrong in profile.
Why the surgeon matters more than the machine
Every clinic in Dubai advertises technology. Devices are purchasable; judgement is not. What determines your outcome is the surgeon’s decision about how much fat to leave behind the single most common cause of an unnatural, over-operated appearance is over-resection, not inadequate equipment.
Dr. Valente trained in Brazil, where body-contouring surgery is practised at exceptionally high volume and where the aesthetic standard favours natural proportion over extreme definition.

Liposuction techniques, side by side
| Technique | How it works | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Traditional (suction-assisted) | Manual cannula movement removes fat | Larger-volume, straightforward areas | Less precision in superficial layers |
| Power-assisted (PAL) | Vibrating cannula eases fat release | Fibrous areas, larger volumes | Requires operator control |
| Ultrasound-assisted (VASER) | Ultrasound energy emulsifies fat before removal | Definition work, fibrous tissue, revisions | Thermal injury risk if poorly executed |
| Laser-assisted | Laser energy liquefies fat, some skin tightening | Small areas chin, neck, arms | Limited for larger volumes |
| High-definition / LipoHP® | Layered superficial and deep sculpting to reveal muscular contour | Fit patients seeking athletic definition | Demands high surgical skill; unforgiving of error |
The honest position: no single technique is universally superior. The right choice depends on your tissue, the area treated, and your goal. Any clinic claiming one technology is best for everyone is marketing, not advising. For a fuller comparison, read liposuction vs HD lipo vs J-Plasma.
What actually happens at your consultation
- 1
Assessment
Medical history, medications, prior surgery, weight history, and your goals in your own words.
- 2
Physical examination
Fat distribution, skin quality and elasticity, muscle tone, asymmetries. Almost every body is asymmetric this is normal and discussed before surgery, not after.
- 3
Honest feasibility discussion
What is achievable for your anatomy. Where the limits are.
- 4
Technique and plan
Which areas, which approach, and why.
- 5
Risks
Discussed fully, not minimised.
- 6
Written costing
An itemised quote never a verbal-only estimate.
- 7
Time to decide
No pressure to book on the day. A same-day discount is a sales tactic, not medical practice.
A realistic recovery timeline
| Period | What to expect |
|---|---|
| First 24 hours | Rest. Soreness comparable to intense muscle strain. Some fluid drainage from incisions is normal and expected. |
| Days 2–4 | Peak swelling and bruising. Short walks encouraged to reduce clot risk. Compression worn continuously. |
| Days 5–10 | Sutures typically removed. Bruising begins to fade. Many patients feel notably better. |
| Days 10–14 | Most return to desk-based work. Compression continues. |
| Weeks 3–6 | Gradual return to light exercise on clearance. Swelling steadily subsides. Lymphatic massage may be recommended. |
| Weeks 6–12 | Most swelling resolved. Contour emerging. Strenuous training usually permitted from week six. |
| Months 3–6 | Tissue softens, residual swelling resolves. |
| Month 6+ | Final result. Scars continue to fade for up to 12–18 months. |
Recovery is not linear. Most patients have a discouraging week somewhere between weeks two and four, when initial improvement plateaus and swelling persists. This is normal and expected not a sign something has gone wrong.
Risks and complications stated honestly
All surgery carries risk. A surgeon who minimises this is not being straight with you.
Common and expected: swelling, bruising, temporary numbness, soreness, temporary firmness or lumpiness, fluid drainage in the first days.
Uncommon: seroma (fluid collection, may require drainage), prolonged swelling, contour irregularity or asymmetry, persistent numbness, delayed wound healing, an unsatisfactory aesthetic result requiring revision.
Rare but serious: infection requiring intervention; deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism; fat embolism; skin necrosis; internal organ injury; anaesthetic complications; and in very rare cases, death.
How risk is reduced: a licensed hospital rather than a clinic room; a dedicated anaesthetist; rigorous patient selection; conservative volume limits; early mobilisation; compression; and structured follow-up.
Honest pricing and what should be included
For market context, published Dubai pricing in 2026 ranges from approximately AED 15,000 at the entry level to AED 70,000 and above for specialist high-definition work. The spread is wide because the number and size of areas, technique, surgeon experience, anaesthesia time, facility, and whether follow-up and revision are included all differ enormously.
What should be included in any quote: surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, facility fee, pre-operative bloodwork, compression garment, and all routine follow-up appointments.
A warning worth stating plainly. Liposuction is one of the procedures where price and safety are most directly linked. The costs that get cut are typically the anaesthetist, the facility, and the surgeon’s time. Correcting a poor result costs considerably more than the original surgery, and some contour irregularities cannot be fully corrected at all.
Insurance in the UAE does not generally cover cosmetic liposuction. Where surgery is medically indicated gynaecomastia in specific cases, for example partial coverage occasionally applies.
The most common decision patients face
| Liposuction | Tummy tuck | |
|---|---|---|
| Removes | Fat only | Fat, excess skin, and repairs separated muscle |
| Right for | Good skin elasticity, isolated fat | Loose skin, post-pregnancy muscle separation |
| Scarring | Minimal, 3–5mm | Hip-to-hip scar |
| Recovery to desk work | 10–14 days | 3–4 weeks |
| Full result | ~6 months | ~6–12 months |
Straightforward guidance: pinch the skin of your abdomen. If it snaps back promptly, liposuction may be sufficient. If it remains loose, or if you have muscle separation after pregnancy, liposuction alone will likely disappoint you. The two are frequently combined.

LipoHP® / Lipoaspiração de Alta Performance: perguntas frequentes
Everything you want to know about LipoHP: what it is, who it suits, recovery and booking your consultation.
Is LipoHP a machine?
No. LipoHP is a surgical planning methodology developed by Dr. Augusto Valente. It is not a device and not licensed equipment, which is why it cannot be purchased and installed by another clinic.Who created LipoHP?
Dr. Augusto Valente, a Brazilian plastic surgeon practising in Dubai, developed LipoHP over years of high volume body contouring practice. How many kg will I lose with LipoHP?
Liposuction typically removes only about 2 to 5 kg, and often less. LipoHP changes your shape, not your weight. It is not a weight loss operation. How long does the procedure take?
Liposuction typically takes 1 to 4 hours depending on how many areas are treated. More areas means more theatre time. Will I be asleep?
There are three options: local anaesthesia, sedation, and general anaesthesia. Which one fits is a medical decision based on the extent of the surgery, not a patient preference. How long do I need to stay in Dubai if I am travelling for surgery?
For most body contouring procedures, plan to remain in Dubai for approximately 10 to 14 days after surgery, for follow up and suture removal. Flying earlier carries a thrombosis risk.Does Dr. Valente speak Arabic?
Consultations are conducted in English or Portuguese. Will Dr. Valente tell me if I am not a suitable candidate?
Yes. In his own words: patients often arrive asking for one operation when what they actually need is a different one, or in some cases no surgery at all.How do I verify Dr. Valente’s credentials?
He holds membership of four plastic surgery societies across three continents: SBCP, ISAPS, ASPS and The Aesthetic Society. Each can be independently verified. Every practising surgeon in Dubai must also hold a DHA licence, which you can check on the DHA register. Is liposuction permanent?
The fat cells removed do not return. However, remaining fat cells in untreated areas can still enlarge with weight gain. Results hold with stable weight. How much fat can safely be removed?
Most surgeons limit removal to approximately 5 litres in a single session. Exceeding this materially increases the risk of fluid shift and complications. A surgeon willing to remove substantially more in one sitting is taking a risk with your safety. Will there be visible scars?
Incisions are 3–5mm and placed in natural creases or concealed areas where possible. They fade considerably over 12–18 months but do not disappear entirely. Any claim of “scarless” liposuction is false. Is liposuction painful?
Discomfort is typically described as severe muscle soreness rather than sharp pain, peaking in the first 48 hours and managed with prescribed medication. When can I return to the gym?
Light walking immediately. Light training usually from week three to four with clearance. Full strenuous training generally from week six.Does liposuction help with gynaecomastia?
Liposuction addresses the fatty component of male chest enlargement. Where true glandular tissue is present, surgical excision of the gland is also required. Assessment determines which applies. How much does liposuction cost in Dubai?
Published 2026 Dubai market figures range from approximately AED 15,000 for a single small area to AED 70,000 and above for full 360° high-definition contouring. The number of areas treated is the largest single factor. You should receive a written, itemised quote before committing. Is liposuction safe?
When performed by a qualified plastic surgeon in a licensed hospital facility with a dedicated anaesthetist, and on an appropriately selected patient, liposuction has a well-established safety record. Risk is never zero. Patient selection is the largest single safety variable.
